As a recommendation for surfing the net, I have linked to websites of traditional handicrafts, folk crafts and food products in Shimono, Aizu and Tsugaru Handicraft Specialties.
I started this site from my own hobby.
We are all born with the desire for truth, goodness, and beauty.
I believe that the Japanese are a people of "Takumi".
They compose waka poems, paint pictures, make beautiful tools, buildings and pet items, and excel in the fine arts. As an island nation, they also respect harmony, and have a deep appreciation of Shintoism and Buddhism, which are natural religions.
They have been willing to seek out, touch and learn about the culture of their wonderful neighbours, China (Sui, Tang and Ming dynasties).
They have sublimated them into a unique Japanese culture and passed it on.
In my area, mainly in the Tohoku region, the culture has been inherited as a unique and isolated one, probably because of its remoteness from the capital.
This is the Tsugaru clan, the Date clan, the Satake clan and other local clans.
I would like to introduce the culture, buildings, scenic spots and sightseeing spots inherited in Shimono, Aizu, Tsugaru and Mutsu as a website journey.
From these places, Handicraft Senka advocates "Life with Japanese beauty".
We hope you will enjoy our website as much as we do.
□These websites are in Japanese.
I apologize for not being able to introduce it in other languages.
I'm collecting sites of various genres.
I mainly collect items from the Tohoku region of Japan.
We hope that each of them will be helpful to you in learning
 about Japanese crafts.
