 「酉孟嘗君と鶏」
  • 孟嘗君は斉の国の王族で、食客３０００人と謳われた有力者を集めていました。有力者とは優れた各方面の人物であり孟嘗君に政治見解を奏聞したりできる人物のことです。
    その中に物まねや盗みが得意な特技がある者も含まれていました。
  • 史実の中で、孟嘗君が斉王からの使者として秦の国に派遣されたことがあります。その際に孟嘗君の才覚に恐れた秦王が孟嘗君を殺そうと図りますが、食客の機転で逃げることが出来ました。
  • その一つに、秦の国境を形成していた関所の函谷関（かんこくかん）での鶏の故事があります。
    当時の関所は時計の代わりに鶏の鳴き声があったとき、朝と判断して関所を開けたそうです。
  • 危険を察知して、秦の都から逃れようとする孟嘗君一向は夜中に函谷関に到着、すぐさま逃げるため、鶏の鳴き声の得意な従者（食客）が鶏の物まねをして、周囲の本物の鶏が鳴き出し関所が開き、秦国外に逃げることが出来たということ。

    「鶏が鳴く時、時代の時を告げます。」
[Mousyoukun and a chicken]
  • Mousyou-kun was a royal in the country of Qi, and he had assembled a group of influential people who were billed as 3,000 diners. An influential person is a person from all walks of life who is able to listen to Mousyou-kun's political views. Among them were those who were good at impersonation and stealing.
  • In history, Mousyou-kun was once sent to the Qin Dynasty as an emissary from King Qi.
    King Qin, who was afraid of Meng Mousyou-kun's talent, tried to kill Mousyou-kun, but the chef was able to escape.
  • One of these is the story of the chickens at Kankokkan, the gate that formed the border of the Qin Dynasty.
    In those days, when there was the sound of chickens clucking instead of clocks, they judged it to be morning and opened the checkpoint.
  • In order to escape from the city of Qin, Mousyou-kun tried to escape from the city in the middle of the night, but his attendant, who was good at clucking chickens, pretended to be a chicken and the real chickens around him started clucking and opened the barrier, so he could escape from the city.
    When the chickens crow, it signals the time of the hour.
